Makes sense. There are only 3 teams in the country with better records than ours and we’ve played an absolute gauntlet of a schedule so far. We deserve that #1 spot objectively

As they should. Despite their weakest performance of the year, they split the series against a very good USCe team at their house.

And did so while overcoming horrendous umpires and South Carolina doing literally everything they could do to duck us

Nothing but USCe fans upset they didn’t move up.

“But we beat UNC & LSU. dIsReSpEcT!”

Without mentioning that no one above them deserved to be jumped.

USC wins their series this weekend they'll make a significant jump.

LSU isn’t going to drop as long as they don’t lose a series. Not gonna drop from #1 after a 2-1 week. Too bad the South Carolina Gaycocks didn’t put more effort in to getting all 3 games in last weekend.

Significant may be a bit of a stretch, but they'll definitely be top 5 after a road series win vs. Vandy.

But this is also a "prove it" weekend for Vandy at home. Should be a good series.

This can’t be right. I was told by the rant that LSU wasn’t a top 10 team and shouldn’t be ranked high because of 1 loss on the road at the #6 team in the country

Not just not a top 10 team but a middle of the pack SEC team.

Makes sense

We've

Won a series vs #5 & #16
Split 2 games with #6
Beat #19 in one game

No one else has that resume

The strike calls against Tre were especially horrendous.

Not to mention remain #1 in the Coaches Poll too by a pretty wide margin (25 1st place votes to WF’s 1). LSU has gone wire-to-wire in every poll I’ve seen put out so far this season.

Now comes an easier second half of the season but how we judge this season will all depend on how we do in the postseason. It would take an incomprehensible collapse from LSU to not claim a national seed at season’s end IMO.
