Why do so many people use ground turkey rather than ground beef?

I see this so much including in this board and design my get it. Do people prefer the taste? The fact that it’s cheaper. The perception that it’s healthier?

ground beef has particular taste that always comes through as ground beef were as turkey just takes on the flavor of your seasoning / dish.

Ground turkey is cheaper??? 93/7 turkey isn’t. It’s the fact that I can get 25-30 grams of protein for 150-250 calories rather than 350-450. Now if I’m not cutting, then bring on the beef
ETA: I do see that ground turkey is cheaper than store ground beef. I stand corrected. I’ve been getting ground beef for $3.50 at Costco and once 3.25 at the butcher for 88/12, but it’s 3.99 now

Less calories, it isn’t that difficult

Maybe I'm the crazy guy, but I like the taste of ground turkey better than ground beef, but I like both so I eat both throughout the week.

I like turkey burgers and turkey tacos are good if you use the right seasoning. I like turkey spaghetti too

I’m about to have to figure something out. I love ground deer meat with no fat added but despite a great season I’m already about out. Our family eats it like crazy. I’ll have to check into the washing beef method.

Can't remember the last time I bought ground beef. I kill mine. Elk, Deer, etc.

I eat a shite ton of meat. I have some form of beef almost every day. One day I decided I should probably be mixing up my protein sources so that I get all my micros and I started adding more chicken and fish to the rotation but I still eat beef almost every day. Then I decided to add ground turkey to my scrambled eggs every morning. No real reason other than variety

Any suggestions from the HFB on the best source and/or brand for ground turkey in the Baton Rouge, Prairieville, Gonzales area?

I typical mix 93/7 turkey and 99/1 turkey.
40 g of protein for 120-150 cals.
Can’t find anything leaner than 90/10 beef.
I’ll use that when I want a treat
