I’m sure Will Campbell and Z Heard are in his ear. I’d love to see Ajay at LSU.

Running back isn't even a need right now. It's already crowded next year

We had one healthy RB in the spring, a true freshman.

The running back group, both last year and next year, is as bad as I ever remember it being in 40-plus years of following LSU football.

Where did this stupid fricking thought come from? I keep seeing it repeated.

Our running backs are possibly the weakest group on the team, along with safety.

Easily bottom half of the SEC, maybe bottom third.

I said it before last year it was a weak group and it's still a weak group unless by some miracle the freshman are hitting all cylinders immediately.

Staff evaluations for all portal entries should be underway, perhaps completed. We should consider all recruits that make our team stronger for next season. High School recruiting is very important ; but has many uncertainties. If the Louisiana portal players want to come home, want to compete, are aligned, and make the TEAM better go get them.

I prefer Logan Diggs of the 2. Diggs ran for 820 yards at ND this past season. Showed good vision, pass catching ability, run through tackles, and broke some big ones for TDs

LSU running backs are senior and freshman heavy.

Ajay Allen would be the only sophomore and Diggs would be a junior along with Goodwin.

They are both takes, imo. I would be happy with either. LSU should've signed both out of high school.

I still think he’d be an elite slot instead of RB. He’s explosive, great in space, and only weighs 182 pounds.

Until proven otherwise (mostly the 2 new guys), RB is the weakest position group on the team, weakest I've seen in decades...

I have no idea why, but I remember that exact post.

Facts.

For this team to meet its potential in 2023, LSU needs to add a legit threat at RB

I'd take both and tell guys like Emery to take a hike. They're both worth getting to replace 2 guys on the roster if they don't like it.

My guess would be Emery/Goodwin get replaced. Really don't know what you have in Goodwin since he's always hurt. If we had a legit RB1 threat the roster would be fine because everything we have right now should be complimentary backs not struggling to find a RB1. It's a roster made up of average RB2 guys right now and no real RB1 threat.

Hopefully Holly/Jackson can put it together early who knows what you have there as well. RB is easier to fall into place as a freshman than most other positions.

Interestingly, Diggs in his two year career at Notre Dame has averaged 4.8 yards per carry and has scored 7 touchdowns.

Noah Cain, who nobody thinks is good enough, so far at LSU averages 5.4 yards a carry and has 10 touchdowns.

I'm not trashing Diggs. I'm ok with taking him and stockpiling veteran backs for 2024 when most of the current crew will be gone. That goes for Allen as well, though I don't think it makes sense to take both.

But the narrative that Diggs or Allen are head and shoulders above what we've got is not factual.

I think the narrative is that the running back group is average, so there’s no harm in taking more players. If they are better, fine. If not, then no harm.

Does he bring his lunch pail? That’s all that matters according to TD.

LSU is taking Diggs. Allen won’t be at LSU

Wouldn't doubt it tbh. Maybe they wouldn't want to play alongside each other. Both probably looking for guaranteed starting job.

LSU4Lyfe seems to think we’re getting Diggs and Coleman. Let’s see if we can crown a new insider.
