To me, and I watch every pitch of every game, I think he's still compensating for the shoulder and figuring out what he can do and stay on the field. He's clearly taken a step back. BUT, I have seen him hit some absolute rockets that were foul balls. So I think he's comfortable in a certain pocket of his swing and if the pitch is in that zone. He also almost always has a great at-bat and is productive. I do think we need him. He had several clutch HRs and XBHs earlier in the year in games we don't win if he doesn't come through.

you may be on to something. If the pitch is high and tight, he will not swing at hit.

I got a downvote on a Yogi Berra quote. TD never ceases to amaze me.

He is not striking out, which means he is seeing the ball well enough to at least put it in play the vast majority of the time.

He's K'd over 24 times in SEC Games or something close to that #

The conversation was about this series or at least that is how I read it. Since his return from injury, he started out shaky, striking out 9 times in the series vs Ole Miss. But he only struck out twice vs Bama

He's diving towards home plate on virtually every pitch and jamming himself. If he let's the ball go, it gets called an inside strike. When he swings, he basically would hit the ball with the handle of the bat if he did make contact. He started this since he came back from injury. JMHO..

Glad he had a good game. Wish I could have seen it.
