Interesting, so the SEC pushed through this expansion that most fans don't even want based on a promise of more money, and now, according to this, the TV overlords aren't even going to pay up other than the pro-rata share which means existing teams get the same amount.

Ridiculous. Can we send Texas and Oklahoma back?

So, Aggy was right? Rumors were they were the sole hold-out who wanted to vote no to expansion and only cratered when they realized it was going to be a 13-1 vote in favor of adding OUT.

Seriously though, this was still the right move in the long-run. The failure was in SEC lacking foresight regarding potential further expansion when they inked the ESPN deal. Texas would've ended up in the B1G alongside USC/UCLA had the SEC not taken the Longhorns. And as much as I hate stroking the Texas ego, that's not a brand you can allow to fall into your rival's lap. That would be a lot more money for those B1G schools over SEC schools in the years to come. See what's happening with the ACC now? FSU soon to be receiving about one third of the media dollars that Vanderbilt receives each year. We don't want to end up in a similar situation, where Alabama and Georgia jealous about Northwestern's annual B1G media revenue. It's unfortunately just the way things are in this landscape.

Yes and send Sankey packing. I've long suspected he was paid a lot of $$$$ under the table to get the OU and UTA deal to happen. He's a sneaky little fawker.

The SEC actually has a bit of leverage, if ESPN does not want to play along make a schedule with no iron bowl, wlocp, tsio, egg bowl, LSU vs A,&M etc, give them weeks with no good matchups and they will step in line.

We own the game they own the right to televise, simply feed them shite sandwiches till they cave.
