Sisterhood isn’t a trend — it’s forever.

New HBO documentary might leave a mark.

Bama Rush.

Texas A&M catches a lot of heat for being cultish but Alabama is close on their heels.

And then the 20 year old girl who sounds like she’s smoked Marlboro reds for 10 years. That’s odd as well

Lol they are doing a deep dive into the Machine. shite hasn’t been relevant outside of SGA elections in decades

Honestly the culty nature of it all is an interesting topic. But they lose me when they’re gonna have an entire segment dedicated to the tranny that got blackballed as a Junior

Not really. It's only 28% of the school that is in Greek life. Ole Miss is at 38%.

This is as of 2021

I was in a fraternity at Alabama and some took it more seriously than others. The Machine was a much bigger deal 30-40 years ago than it is today. They should have done a documentary in the 80's on this. I expect this place to be ruthless though in demonizing UA after this comes out.

Yes it's a lot of students, but the University doesn't revolve around it like they are probably going to suggest. Plenty of freshmen are not a part of Greek life and they are just as happy (probably more happy).

The Greeks really overrate how much “campus life” revolves around them. It’s a crazy bubble to be in though and breeds some crazy large egos. They keep themselves so closed off that you barely interact with their spaces, much less revolve around them. Ironic.

ETA: SGA and stuff is obviously influenced by them, but they’re the only ones who give a shite about it so idk what it’s worth. Lots of great Frat guys I’ve met. The sororities are populated with legit cultish weirdos who look like hot women though.

Hell you’d be hard pressed to find someone as fratty as me back in the day. A lot of it’s stupid but keep in mind that the members are a bunch of 18 to 22 year olds. Writing a hit piece under the veil of making some sort of grand positive change is stupid

If I'm going to watcha a video about sorority girls online, this isn't the type I'll be watching.

What a disaster that University is.

Do you think LSU is any better or for that matter most other major universities in the South?

The embarrassing thing is how LSU has allowed Alabama to outpace it academically.

But it is glorious that they are nationally highlighting the Gumps here.
