If Jay and Wes want to move Hurd back into the starting rotation for the postseason, then he probably starts on Wednesday.

If they want to keep Hurd in the bullpen for the postseason, I think Money probably starts Wednesday.

Or Maybe Little, just to see how he responds going back into a starter role. And you could have a quick hook if he struggles, then go to Money in long relief.

If Georgia wins, it definitely won't be Herring starting since Georgia starts 7 or 8 right handed hitters.

I would hope Little never pitches in a meaningful point in any game we have left. He has moved into that mop up role being 8 down or 8 up role. He just can not be counted on. My bet is Money or Herring.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if you saw Cooper and Money each go 3-4 then finish with Collins no matter what the score is. Then throw Skenes and whoever you need to to make sure Floyd gets a start. No need in extending anyone that you plan to use for regionals. Let them get a few innings then get the hell out of Hoover.

Same way they’ll run it in regionals.

We are gonna run one of our worst options at starter for game 1 of the regional?

Jesus, you people dumb as phuck.

Do you have any idea how this works?

Game one will be against someone along the lines of the SWAC champ. LSU can trot out Money (anyone, really) and overwhelm them. You don't burn your ace against them, you put some guy who can eat innings.

Game 2 will be against the 2nd best team in the region. If we're a national seed (Top 8), odds are high this still won't be a ranked team... the teams in the bottom of the Top 25 should be the 2 seeds in the 9-16 regionals. You trot Skenes out there against them, should be an easy W.

Win both of them, and you should be pitching Floyd to win the regional.

I think it's Money then Herring like vs McNeese. Hope they can get you 6 to 7 innings.

It could be. But giving him a start in a meaningless game just to give him one more chance to prove himself wouldn’t surprise me.

He was good for us early in the season, and at times when he was at Vandy. So he has the potential. It would be a low risk/ high reward move if it ends up turning around his season going into the postseason.

He has been pretty bad the last few weeks though, there’s no denying that.

I'm thinking Hurd, 70 pitches on 6 days rest.
Skenes for game 2, 100+ pitches, week rest

This.

For all intents and purposes Wednesday is both literally and figuratively a “midweek” game for LSU. They will probably treat it as a bit of an audition for the 4th starter/long reliever role heading into the regionals.

Jay seems to like Hurd out of the bullpen, so my money is on Money getting the start.

I throw Skenes first game and Floyd 2nd game
Try to win our first 2 games to stay top 5 then throw Johnny Wholestaff game 3 and 4 and hope for the best. Little is last off the bench and Cooper right next to him!

Why in the hell would you throw your 2 best and only reliable pitchers on short rest in two completely meaningless games just ahead of the most important games of the season?

LSU’s NCAAT standing is set in stone RIGHT NOW. Nothing that happens in the SECT will have an effect. Good or bad.

Scoob, talking about the SECT. Not regionals.
