unless the sound to that was doctored(not sure why they're speaking English,) that would haunt me forever if that was my kid and I was onshore witnessing it, helpless to help your own son

IIRC, the shark's teeth were clamped over his lead vest. I think I read that pound for pound the Great White's bite strength is similar to humans, and it wasn't strong enough to penetrate the vest. Since the teeth didn't find a way into him he survived with minimal or no cuts I believe.

Rewatch the video, a boat rolled up seconds after the guy went under for the last time. No help was going to arrive faster, especially not from Monday morning quarterbacks.

What was the OT's general opinion of why the high schooler was swimming towards the life preserver, did a 180 when splashing occurred between he and the preserver, then disappeared within 15-20 seconds?

Had to be something that grabbed him. I mean by all observations the kid that jumped in did it on a dare. Didnt look like he was depressed or anything to just say i'm going under to kill myself. If a shark grabs you moving full speed you will dissappear underwater immediately.

i just watched 4 or 5 more videos and in every one they yelled shark in english and i guess the egyptian language. Just to the left, not in original video, they had a bunch of kids swimming.
