I was in the seventh grade and our independent football team from Denham Springs played a team from Texas right before the LSU Mississippi State football game in Tiger Stadium on November 12,1977. Both purple and gold teams won that night. The two times I got to play in Death Valley were amazing.

1995 vs. Rice. It was the week after the “bring back the magic” game against Auburn. Awesome atmosphere for a cupcake game. I was in sixth grade.

Earthquake Game, 5 years old. Hard not to fall in love with LSU after that.

My first game in Tiger Stadium was 1976 -freshman year- LSU and Nebraska tied 6-6. LSU had 60 yrd total passing. Typical Charlie Mac. But, my first LSU game was the 1968 Sugar Bowl game vs Wyoming. I was 9 years old and convinced my Dad to give me his unwanted ticket and I walked to the game. We lived about 10 minutes away. Good times...

I was 7 years old and i figure it was 1970. My Dad took me to a game where we played aTm and we lost. Back then we didnt lose to aTm and in 1970 we did so thats how i figured what year it was. That the first game that I can remember in Tiger Stadium.

When I see two downvotes on a post like this I really wonder what motivates these people.

Great post by Ladytiger58. I used to love listening to the Tigers with my dad in the 60's and 70's. It was such a treasure. Also, it was incredibly exciting when the Tigers were on tv which didn't happen often back in those days. When I moved to Fayetteville in early 90's they were not on tv for most games. I would have to drive to top of Mount Sequoyah overlook to get the games on WWL. At about half time for night games I could drive back home because reception became much clearer.

First game I have distinct memory of was LSU v Rice 1977... 77-0!

1997 LSU vs. Ole Miss. LSU was coming off of a huge win against no. 1 UF, and turned around and did not score in the second half to lose 35-21…..that was a long drive home. And seeing how I lived in Mississippi at the time, the following week totally sucked.

1979 Southern Cal game. I was a bright eyed freshman. Could not believe what I was seeing. Led 12-3 going into the 4th quarter. Wore down under USC's brusing offensive line + Charles White. Bogus facemask call against Benji Thibodeaux. Still we had the ball at about their 45 with a couple of seconds left. Ensminger through it to the back of the end zone and it hit our WR's fingertips. What a game. Hooked ever since.
