If you think Billy Canon could go into the game today and rush for 1100+ yards against the Maason Smith/Harold Perkins type players when his opponents D lines were all white

Are we time traveling him straight from the 50s and planting him into today or are we pretending he's born in modern times and has the same upbringing as athletes today? Because we can go both ways on this. Jim Brown wouldn't have the stats he did back then in today's game either, he'd be another expendable RB in today's game.

It's not fair to compare players of an old era to now when there's been so much advancement in training, conditioning, diet, etc. It is fair to compare them to their contemporaries because they all had relatively the same training and regimen and whoever came out the best was the best amongst them. And Cannon was the best back then.

If you had just said best players from the 2000s on and left it at that we could have engaged in an honest and fair discussion and start listing. I don't see why you have to go and shite on the players that came before in order to bring that up, but you felt the need to and now that's what the whole thread's going to be, and probably what you wanted so enjoy.
