OK but nobody else in the 50s had this advantage either. No one is saying that if you went back in time to 1958, scooped Billy Cannon, and came back, and threw 1958 Billy Cannon into a 2023 LSU football game that he would be as effective as he was back then. But among his peers at that time he was better than everyone.

If Billy Cannon was born in 2005 and was going into LSU this year with the conditioning and weight training HS athletes have now that they didn't have in the 50s, do you not think it's possible he'd be a great player? You don't think he could be a Christian McCaffrey kinda guy?

Again, if you had just made this thread asking who are the best players in the Saban era and beyond (since Saban was 2000) I don't think you'd be getting these kind of responses. It's the sheer disrespect you presented with your opening statement shitting on our only Heisman winner before Burrow and anyone else that came before Y2K. When that wasn't necessary for the ultimate topic at hand, which ultimately leads me (and probably others) to believe that this was the real discussion you wanted to have to begin with.
