I get that, but it’s the staff’s job to convince him to stay. They’ve failed at it. Our interior dline recruiting has been atrocious and it has to be fixed

I mean we all have failures in life, as I'm sure you do. It's just the way it is. Sometimes there's NOTHING you can do to change someone's mind. It's called life and failure is part of it.

This until you have a kid that’s being recruited regionally no one can understand this. I have such and all the kid wants is to get out of Louisiana.
The people that say “oh kids must stay in LA have never actually been out of LA. It’s a third world country compared to other places and young kids aren’t as loyal as the last few generations when it comes to home. Their worlds are so much bigger with social media than just the generation prior.

Right, but this is also the LSU recruiting board. It’s okay to point out that we failed on a prospect AND be frustrated by it.

These coaches are paid hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions. We expect them to deliver. In this case, though not 100%, it appears that they have not here and last year in regards to interior dline recruiting

The #1 player in the state of Alabama this year, the #13 player in the country, is committed to A&M.

The #30 and the #32 players in the country (3rd and 4th in Alabama) are committed to Auburn.

The #1 player in the state of Alabama last year, in 2023, is enrolled at Clemson. He was the #19 player in the country.

It’s felt all along like he was going to go out of state. I know it’s a long way till signing day, but i think he ends up at texas. Mom is a long time teacher. They said academics is a major factor in his decision. I love LSU more than most but UT’s academics are way ahead. He also said he wants to major in computer sciences. UT is known for having one of the top computer science departments in the entire country

Whatever he picks I wish him the best. I expect us to drop a bag in portal end of year if we don't flip anyone.

Damn someone down voted on me posting On3 update. Lol

Can't fault him if that's the case. Sometimes it just be like that where priorities lead a kid elsewhere, he just wants to leave the state / experience somewhere new, etc.

Best of luck to him and can't wait till that first UT game.

This is the dumbest fricking take. Coaches cannot control shite when it comes to recruits and where they want to go.

Ah yes. It’s dumb to hold our coaches accountable for not being able to beat out Texas for him. Again, this is how they are judged. It’s okay to hold them accountable while hoping it picks up.

In the past 2 years, are you satisfied with our interior dline recruiting?

And I’m sorry, but isn’t that exactly what recruiting is? Convincing the prospect your school is the best choice for that player for development/education and building/maintaining that relationship?

Talk about dumb takes

We need to do better with our interior dline recruiting, plain and simple

Does anyone find it odd that McKinley is so awkward and meek in his interviews? I get that some kids are shy, but he doesn’t strike me as a kid with a great deal of confidence. Just something I noticed.

He is probably tired of being pestered with questions.

Honestly He might just be really shy because he did have his coach with him that jumped in a few times to talk. This is all new to him so I can see him being uncomfortable with the process doing interviews.

If I said Crystal Ball was in for LSU might have got all up votes. I'm just waiting on his commitment I don't think anyone knows what he will do.

If someone commits to Texas 9 times out of 10 it’s because of money. Hope everyone understands that. Rarely is it about the program. They have been arse for over a decade and they have a failed head coach. People…IT’S MONEYYYTY
