I wonder if Congress ever gets involved. These collectives have instantly become pay for play which clearly was not the intention of NIL. The ultimate irony is Maason Smith getting suspended for doing what NIL was truly intended to address.

College football is going to be pretty boring if Texas is buying their way to a title every other year. I think it became a lesser product when Saban had Alabama at the top every year.

Heck SMU might be able to buy their way back to the top again.

Besides Collin Simmons Texas is getting their arse handed to them on the trail this year - they’ll get Kobe black also
They’ll have to have a good season to keep Simmons though

A&M didn’t have a great class last year and their current class is nothing like 2022
Most of their class is east Texas kids - they’re not spending all kinds of money on national recruits
Why aren’t they buying a 5* Qb in the last 2 classes with all that money ?

Why would Congress get involved? They have enough problems just passing a budget on time without killing the government.

If schools want parity and a level playing field, then conferences or (gasp) the governing body for the sport need to set some sort of guidelines.

Congress didn’t create this problem; schools did. You don’t need Congress to fix everything.
