No player is more valuable to his team and it’s not even close, points lead aside. The Bolts might not even be in the playoffs without him

Not sure the voters will do the right thing, but the right thing is obvious

Are the voters gonna care that he half-assed the all-star weekend activities and/or because he is Russian?

No way they make the playoffs without him this year.

He also had the highest percentage of empty net points this year

I’m biased for Nate but I think this is the closest Hart race in a while - no vote is wrong between Nate, Kuch and Matthews
I don’t agree with voting for McDavid just because

It's sad watching this Az Coyotes postgame with the home crowd. The diehards deserved better.

They'll get an expansion team in 5 years with Atlanta and Houston.

Leafs B's and Avs Jets in the first round. I swear NHL playoff structure is stupid and needs help. These would be title fight type series and we get them in the first round.

That being said, if Bucky stands on his head the Avs are going home in 5; Makar and Mac notwithstanding.

Under the old 1-8 structure these matchups would be 4 seed vs 5 seed, and 3 seed vs 4 seed

I don’t know what else you could ask for.

The Avalanche are so good at home. Unfortunately for them, .Winnipeg has home ice. Winnipeg was 4-0 against the Avs and out scored them 17-4 including 7-0 last week. On the season, The Avs have been far better scoring and on special teams. The goalie disparity is laughable in the Jets favor. But it feels like the Jets have their number with better scoring depth on the bottom six. The Avs will have to do this with speed across the neutral zone, forechecking and by not allowing turnovers in the Jet zone to quickly be recycled out on rushes. That’s what the Jets have done to the Avalanche all season.

There is a reason why everyone is picking the Jets.

frick.

Agree with all of this

Now that matchups are set, I'll be giving my predictions on the whole shebang soon. I think the Avs CAN beat Winnipeg and win the cup, but they will not. They needed somebody else to draw Winnipeg and beat them first, the matchup is too bad.

I'll take the Avs' chances in 7 games over any other team in the West - Winnipeg we'll be lucky to force a game 6

I was a Thrashers fan, saddled with horrifically inept ownership. Franchise moved, which sucks. But the people of Winnipeg were such elitist assholes about it, that I've held a grudge for a long, long time.

Now their franchise is beleaguered with poor corporate support, dwindling STH sales, and a piss-poor business environment. They've got a deep-pocketed owner, so they'll be fine for the long run. But still, frick Winnipeg.
