Hopefully those 7 games took a big toll on Dallas while we rested. Definitely going to one of the games here again.

American Airlines Arena has had that same low camera angle for years. I wish someone could move it up. But I guess it's not that simple.

Not the result that I wanted but congrats to the Stars on an epic series.

At least now, I can watch the playoffs without having to make sure that my heart medication is nearby.

It all depends on Georgiev. Will his head be on his shoulders or up his arse like game 1 last series is the question.

ETA: Wish they'd announce game 3 and 4 times already so I can plan which one I'm going to. Game time for game 3 on Saturday will be the main one I'm curious about that will determine my planning.

For better or worse the way this series scheduled out with all Dallas games being on weekdays essentially rules me out of sneaking over for a game
So my wife is happy about that

Unless maybe game 7

think I'll be rooting for a non life threatening event to occur so that none of them would win.

Bs and Rats are scoreless after one. Rats were a lot better the first ten minutes, then the Bs came on and Pasta had a steal and dunk at one point that was denied. Bs will have about a minute of PP to start the second.

I'm sure you saw it, but 8PM for Saturday.

Was there Games 3 and 4 for round 1 against WPG, and man - the Pepsi Center (don't you tell me it's Ball Arena, I don't accept that) was freaking popping off with the late start.

If you can get there, do it for sure. Hell, it was so much fun that my 1.5, 3, and 6 year olds (used to CT time) were perfectly behaved well past midnight our normal time and having a ball.

Dallas had 16 goals in 7 games, Avs had 28 in 5. Quite the contrast. The Avs have 8 players that averaged a point per game in round one. That's crazy. My gut is Dallas steps it up significantly as Vegas kind of had their number defensively.

Looks like we won't get Drouin back anytime too soon. Nichushkin is going to be a mad man against his former team. Not sure if anybody is paying attention, but he might be the best goal scorer in the playoffs after a round with 7. The Stars look a little top heavy to me so far in the playoffs, 3-4 guys carrying the offense. Not sure that's going to work against a team that can score across the lines like the Avs. I expect Dallas to get better scoring on the bottom 6. Pavelski on the power play has always meant PAIN. But so does Makar.

Goalies-clearly Dallas. Coaching-push.

Avs in 7. On the strength of depth, youth and speed.

Am I missing an update? Seems like it was recently reported by Rawal that he was eyeing a late second round return, just pending enough healing of his cut to not risk infection

Yeah, that's not "anytime too soon". It would have been great to have him ready for game one. Also, it seems like the second round is always the injury round in the playoffs, so staying healthy is everything. *crosses fingers

Of course.

I really hope Kovy finds his footing, as it sounds like he might be the odd man out after today's practice. Dude had his moments in Game 4, but definitely seemed overwhelmed with the speed at this level. I still think he's got Top 6 potential, but he's probably got some AHL time next season before being a Bottom 6 feature.

Getting Kivi back would be huge, as I'd much rather him or Foudy over Wagner at this point. Sounds like we're going the safe route with Wags over Foudy.

Also, damnit we're missing LOC right now in a massive way.

Avs outscored Dallas pretty heavily in the reg season matchups, IIRC. Dallas did have a pretty big win their last game, tho. I wouldn't be surprised if the Avs wins during the series are lopsided 4-1 or 5-2 games, while the Stars wins are close 1-goal games.

Especially if the Stars keep playing a 5-man rotation on defense. Miro has been logging a ton of TOI. That'll catch up to him/them eventually and probably show in the +/- at some point.

I've been really happy with the youth on the Stars. They have a solid mix of older veterans, guys like Robinson in their prime, and young guys breaking into the league that are contributing.

I like Otter, but I won't say he's elite until he has his name etched on the Cup. The Stars have had some good goalies that were never great over the years. I'm still not convinced Otter has elite in him, as much as I want him to be.

Kiva looked like a new man in round one. As did Wood, Parise, Middlestadt, Trenin et al.
