quality of life is about more than how much money you spend.

I'd be fine with having less money in my bank account if i had everything I needed taken care of and less worries that if I frick around and get cancer I'll be destitute.

For some people, the tax rate isn't the end all be all for the quality of their life. A lot of people don't mind paying more taxes if shite actually gets done with them that gives that person a better quality of life.

It’s like they actually get something for all the taxes they pay?! Compared to us, who still pay high taxes but don’t get shite?! Poor infrastructure, shity law enforcement, crappy public services in general. Glad we in the US don’t pay ALL those taxes.

And yet Sweden and many other Nordic countries are often among the happiest countries in the world. Probably because the governments there focus more on using their power to actually help their citizens rather than just corporations and lobbyists
