Then get another job. I'd hope my employer would "hold the rope" until I got back.

What's the protocol in these situations? We hire a guy who for reasons beyond his control can't perform his job duties. Does LSU have long term disability like most organizations? Seems like once it was determined he couldn't do his job, we should have looked for a permanent replacement. Seems to also be a killer in recruiting

Not bitching. Our multi-million dollar head coach just admitted that they have not had a d-line coach since spring. It may not change anything, but it has hurt this team alot

I mean there’s very recent precedent with Steve Kragthorpe. He was kept on staff in an administrative role after his diagnosis. That should have been done two months ago for Lindsey.

Maybe the NCAA won’t allow another on field coach to replace him.

Hence why Pete is an analyst.

I fully expected Kelly to bring Pete Jenkins as a interim Dline Coach for the season. Was shocked he didn't and now that Jenkins was brought in, it seems it was a little too late.

We've pretty much had an ST "coach" for the past two years in name only as well.

I mean he's being a little hyperbolic with that, Jamar Cain got hired by Denver on March 23rd during spring ball, they didn't rush to hire someone so staffers helped out.

He hired Lindsey in May and then unfortunately Lindsey had the medical issues on August 2nd. That's a tough time of the year to hire a replacement, but he for sure should have sought out Pete earlier than now to help Jancek and Diaco

I listened to Ex Strength and Conditioning Coach, on Mahtook Blog this morning. He made more sense than any Coach I've heard lately.
Any fan who has not played football, should listen. Very educational.

I’m starting to think we need a new head coach. Of course, we can’t fire him due to his huge contract. Something is not right.

This.

How is that even possible at a place like LSU?

He's been a 9-3 coach for his career...he finds a way (like he did here last year, and might here well again this year). But that's what he is. He is not elite. He has never been elite. He won't start being elite here.

He moved jancek into that role. And also had diaco help out.

It was a tough spot to be put in. At least he is owning up to it.

Now if he was offered Pete Jenkins earlier in the season and declined then that's another story.

I think people thought kelly would come here and never make a mistake. He is a solid coach. Not Saban. People need to adjust their expectations.

It's LSU. We always want the backup QB in and for the head coach to be fired.

It is concerning, that explains the d line performance

Why? Because someone has a different opinion than you?

Many people have elite expectations of LSUs football program. Perhaps they should not.

But if they do, you cannot blame them for wanting someone other than Brian Kelly, who is not an elite coach, to get them to elite status.

Moffitt was fired from LSU. He's hardly an unbiased source.
