***BK disposition about Frank Wilson lawsuit from Lewis***
***Wilson did get cleared background check***

Look, I am with everyone that LSU needs to be held to highest standard in football. CBK won the SEC west and 10 games in his first year which IMO set unfair expectations for this season. There’s so much disorganization behind the scenes and even though I am thankful for Miles and O for the championships, they may have set back LSU a decade.

Kelly is trying his best to get back some organization, but it will take time. Lots of factors including Rempe leaving to be AD, Coach Cain late departure, Coach Lindsey health scare, etc. I think Kelly likes to delegate and approach the coaching world like a politician. We just have to give the guy some time to get this Fortune 500 company back to where it belongs, all the way at the top, baby!

quote:

Kelly said the LSU football program was unorganized when he took over He said LSU football was dysfunctional, lacked a clear organizational chart and clear lines of communication and accountability. “It was in my first few days, very disorganized, lacked clarity,” he said. “There was poor communication. And I could sense that from the very first day in the building. The organization of what is considered in many ways a Fortune 500 company was very, very poor.”

quote:

According to the deposition, Kelly said Wilson's background check was handled by Stephanie Rempe, the current athletics director at Nevada, who at the time was LSU's executive deputy athletics director and chief operating officer. "(She) really worked with me during this transition with personnel and hiring. And she did all of that work for me," Kelly said in the deposition. "... She handled the personnel dismissals, severance packages and, again, working directly with (human resources), when it came to background checks." Kelly further explained in the deposition that he usually just gets a thumbs-up or thumbs-down on background checks for hiring candidates. "It was simply ... cleared or not cleared," Kelly said, adding that the only potential exception being that sometimes when a candidate would clear the background check, the candidate would have a potential issue about which Kelly would need to be notified. "It might be a financial issue or something to that effect," Kelly said in the deposition.

Well at least they're actually doing background checks these days, instead of hiring convicted felons.

There’s really nothing odd about any of that.

It doesn't matter how you try to dress it up... there's still no excuse for giving up 700+ yards on defense to Ole Miss in year 2. This isn't Vanderbilt's roster.

Wasnt trying to say there is, just wanted to give some insight into how Kelly works and how he might have to adapt some. Edited a bit of OP, maybe my wording was off.

This will go away once she accepts her settlement
She’s not going to trial, too much risk especially if she loses
It’s getting that bag of money and it’s going away

Aranda's 2019 defense was stacked with NFL players and gave up over 600 yards to Ole Miss with a baseball player playing QB. Let's not stroke out just yet.

I got the info in the OP from those articles, but didnt mean for the thread to turn into a Lewis/Wilson legal battle because that was the whole point of those articles. Was trying to showcase how Kelly works behind the scenes and how he didnt like the communication/organization of LSU. Had to link sources because I didnt want to randomly claim I had inside knowledge haha.

True but Delpit and several other starters were playing through high ankle sprains, once they got healthy LSU started to really dominate on defense.

And Greg Brooks has brain cancer and the defensive line coach was struck with another brain related health emergency.

Yes the defense isn’t good but it’s been struck down by more tragic misfortune than anyone could just grin and bear.

Well, Delpit and others aren't walking through that door.

Sounds as if he’s passing his failure as hc, to past head coaches, and making asinine excuses for his failures!

I've been noticing a few of yall who bring up that game as some type of excuse... but fail to bring up the fact that it was 31-7 at halftime and we won by 21. The game was NEVER in doubt.

The fact that he had to testify says everything you need to know. Title IX is FAR more egregious than anything LSU has faced in the last 50 years.

Yes we even dropped to #2 in the CFP poll after that Ole Miss game due to the voters questioning our D.
