In 2006, Hamas won the 2006 Palestinian legislative elections and assumed administrative control of Gaza Strip and West Bank. In 2007, Hamas led a military victory over Fatah, the secular Palestinian nationalist party, which had dominated the Palestinian National Authority.
Elections matter.

This is Gaza we are talking about. If you living in that terrorist hotbed you knew this was coming. Israel will bomb away.
Civilians have been forced to remain in Gaza. Securing passage to leave is very difficult.

Yes, and in that time the Gaza residents have shown they value Hamas more than the safety of their families.

But should Israel get in the gutter with Hamas?
Hamas slaughtered babies. Don’t need to go into gutter but it’s time to level Gaza. They already warned the civilians to leave.

That's the conundrum here. The civilian Palestinians, who number well over 1 million, didn't attack innocent people. Hamas did.
How should Israel respond to the civilians?
First, they elected them. They knew this would happen.
Second, many knew this was coming. It could have been stopped before it happened. They did nothing.
Third, they should get the frick out.
Fourth, they should let the Israelis know where they are and where the hostages are. They are not helping.
Fifth, they should get rid of Hamas. They did not.
Sixth, they are allowing themselves to be used as human shields.
They could have prevented this from happening. They could stop whatever is going on right now. And they could get out.
But they are staying there.

Yep, at this point you have to assign a lot of blame on the general public. After 20 years of this stuff you think it might register with them that blowback is brutal.

Israel has given 3 days already have put out information to the citizens in Gaza routes and areas to go to get out of the way. Egypt won’t take them so they must comply with what Israel is offering.
It is the citizens choice at this time. Israel can’t stop what is coming because the terrorist win by using human shields. It’s a horrible precedent but you can’t negotiate with savages.

I also doubt 1.5 million civilians knew Hamas was about to attack Israel. The U.S. doesn't even share military operations with the public.

Like somebody said It might be very hard for most of them to leave. Does anyone know how to get out of the area if your are a citizen? Just wondering
I dont want any innocent people to lose their lives, but it is what it is. Maybe this is the time for them to rise up against Hummus.

You also have to take into account the Muslim belief system… the more death and chaos the sooner the Mahdi or the 12th Imam comes back. So it’s a win-win for them. Remember they get 70 virgins in heaven is their reward.

This isn’t the case. Israel has offered routes to safety and places for them to go. They won’t leave.

Isn't recognizing humanitarian principles what makes us and our allies different from terrorists like Hamas?
Yes they should because they will never win if they don't go "eye for an eye".
It's why Republicans never win...Repubs refuse to play by Marxist/Democrat rules.

Almost 300,000 have already left Gaza since Sunday. If you have the will you will find a way.

Give advance warning of about 6 hours. Go block by block and flatten everything. Clear out about 10 blocks, bring in bull dozers, rinse and repeat.

I understand your point. Consider this hypothetical:
President Biden and his Democrat administration order a secret attack on Russia. Russia responds by seiging America with a barrage of indiscriminate rockets and missiles in preparation for a full-scale ground invasion. The Biden administration orders a stop on all Americans attempting to flee the U.S. and avoid the war. There is no way out and all civilians and their families are forced to remain in the conflict zone.
Although Russia has an obligation to mitigate civilian casualties, they use the same rationale you proposed. Does that change the calculation?
