Jayden's numbers are undeniably great, but the 2 seasons are distinguishable by two facts: (1) 2019 was 8-0 and I think they had only trailed one quarter at that point, and (2) LSU had already beaten three top-10 teams at that point. 2019 was just on a different level.

We did get UF and Auburn at home...the 2 teams that probably did the best against us defensively except UGA in SEC title game.

Mizzou and OM are pretty comparable and on the road. FSU is better than any of the 3 top 10 teams we played in 2019.

One of those Top 10 teams was Texas, who was ranked #9 when we played them. They finished 7-5, with 4 conference losses.

That's not the "gotcha" people think it was.

The 2019 LSU defense was on a whole different level than this defense. It had NFL players at every level and even though the stats weren’t great, that was, to me, somewhat a product of the fact we were blowing out so many teams and the focus wasn’t always there. But if there is to be any legit discussion of JD and Joe’s seasons and how they compare, let’s wait and see
How JD does against Bama. Remember Joe came out and went 17 for his first 17 passes. Just as big time as it gets. Hopefully JD does something similar.

At week 8 lsu had played the 7 and 11 teams.

Texas was no longer ranked.

As of week 8 lsu has played the number 4 number 12 and number 16 teams
