I suspect the coaches already know what they have in Nuss.
The notion that we play him to satisfy your curiosity about what next year will look like doesn't sound like good football strategy.

I agree. The coaches probably have a good handle on what Nuss brings to the table. What isn't known, however, is how Nuss will play when he's the obvious QB1.

And, in my opinion, I don't think you'll know much more about that regardless of whether he starts or not for the remainder of the year. The 2023 LSU offense was tailor-made to suit Jayden's skills, and Nuss is a different beast.

I think it's entirely possible for Nuss to play with this year's 1's and be good. But that will tell us nothing about how he'll look after an offseason practicing as QB1 with the first string offense and having game plans skewed to his particular skill set.

We will miss JD legs for sure.

True, but there's an equal chance we'll be wowed by Nuss' quick release, accuracy and deep ball skills.

Nuss couldn’t even complete a pass when he came in, wtf

To be fair, when he came in it was pretty obvious that he was going to have to throw a LOT if the Tigers were going to have a chance to come back.

The last thing you want against any Saban defense is for him to know you have to pass when you're using your backup (regardless of how much talent the backup has).

I wasn't surprised at all that Nuss couldn't throw against the Gumps in that situation. Were you?

If Jayden is able to play this weekend I think they should let him play. If he is in question theres no doubt he will sit this one out.

Yall are in for a rude awakening. JD has put this entire team on his back the last 2 years. Nuss will be good, but he will be a substantial drop off.

2 years??? Really you are going to include the 2022 season?
