Friend,

Neither is very interesting and neither is worth more than a day or two of your time there. Missoula has better in town hiking, with Mt Jumbo being an easy hike and giving good views of the town. If you enjoyed A River Runs Through It, it is Norman Maclean’s hometown and you can see the church and the manse in which he grew up. The university campus is fairly nice but small.

We only spent a day in Bozeman and found it less than interesting. The human settlements in Montana just are not very interesting and always leave something wanting. Montana is a place we go to hike and fly fish. The towns are not a draw in the slightest.

Friend,

Might I suggest you snack on a huckleberry bear claw from the Polebridge Mercantile at Bowman Lake whilst contemplating the beauty of the area. Perhaps your mind could be changed!
