If you do. Which brands or models would you recommend?

I've been shooting a browning cynergy 28" in shadowgrass camo for about 10 years. Have had next to zero issues with it and it shoots whatever rusted shells I feed it. Only downside is the camo has not held up well and I sometimes miss the 3rd shot for cripples.

Why would you give up the third shot?Nice to have for cripples and many other reasons that has nothing to do with being a bad shot.

I have used a browning Citori almost exclusively for ducks, geese and cranes for the last 35 years. I used #5 lead in a 2 3/4 inch shell for ducks and #2 lead for geese when lead was legal and #2 steel for ducks and BB for geese and cranes now, all Winchester Super X, 2-3/4 for ducks and 3 inch for geese and cranes. Modified choke in both barrels. I have a couple of semi autos and I have used them but I almost always default to one Citori for ALL wingshooting....

There is a slight problem with shooting a O/U from a blind of any sort...they are far shorter overall than pump guns and auto-loaders. The barrel length is the same but the receiver and action is shorter. It is VERY easy to have the muzzle of a O/U inside a blind where the longer pump and auto loader is very noticeable when the muzzle is inside the blind. Just something to keep in mind...it is possible to swing a 28 inch O/U inside a blind and it be pointed toward someone just a few feet away and neither of you notice while the longer pump or semi would be very noticeable. They are cats meow in tight cover though, especially timber.

The other thing is that they kick like a fricking mule. Most are recoil operated so any kind of reduction means the action has to be corrected to account for it. My citorri kicks like a damned mule, especially with 3 inch shells.

I've shot mine a bunch. 3" mag recoil gave me headaches.

My question is why are O/U so overpriced?
