I once dated a girl who graduated from Sarah Lawrence, which isn't Ivy, but not too far off. The amount of work required was pretty daunting. Even courses that would be considered blowoffs at LSU would have a term paper and a lot of outside reading. Yes, if you did the work it was hard to fail, and there was plenty of help if you needed it. But you did have to put in the work.

Depends on the major, but for most it is the same or easier at Harvard. As others mentioned it is about getting in that is hard. Once there, it is no different from most any college when it comes to course load and in fact grading is likely easier because “we are taking the best kids, of course they are all going to get A’s”.

That said, LSU has also become a joke in many ways and it is way easier to get good grades now than before because they pander to the students AND many faculty don’t give a crap about teaching. It’s just an obligation to them, and easier grades means less students “needing” help.
