I was a big collector for several years in the late 80s through the 90s/early 2000s.
I had a collection that would be considered priceless today but unfortunately was all lost in a fire.
I’d managed to put together every upper deck baseball set from 1989-2000. That’s error cards, inserts, everything top to bottom. Lost a lot of NBA individual rookies (Kobe, Iverson, KG, etc) from the 90s and old Michael Jordan cards (no Rookie). I have 3 books of Football that were not lost.
I’d argue that I may have the most complete 2000 SP Authentic set in the country (had 2 Brady Rookies at one time). The buy back autograph program involved with the set made it difficult to complete but I think I may be only missing 2 or 3 and those were 1/1’s and a Mike Alstott that was numbered to 3. I’ve also got the 98 Playoff Contenders set, but unfortunately wasn’t able to complete it and get it stamped. The autographed rookie tickets and gold cards were a booger to get.
Would love to get back into it, but so much has changed I wouldn’t know where to dive in. Feel like todays game is more about individual cards and not completing sets.

1989 Upper Deck was so much better than anything else out there, I bought a lot of it. I had several unopened boxes of Hi and Low packs, a bunch of loose ones, and bought Ken Griffey Jr’s whenever I saw one at a reasonable price. All were stolen in a burglary except maybe the KGs but I’m not sure where those are. I was digging through boxes today and saw my OJ Simpson rookie card and an assortment of Jeff Reardon cards I collected.
In the same junk box, I saw a Bear Who? pin probably from his last appearance in Tiger Stadium and a pin from when we played USC @ USC in 1985. It was for USC fans and said “Tiger Busters” and had a beat up Tiger in a red circle with the red slash through it. Also had a couple of stadium cups from 1997 Florida at TS with blades of grass painted purple and gold in it. I think I pulled those from the end zone.
ETA: Box also contained a Warren Morris tshirt from a promotion the Tulsa Drillers had.
