I might have to actually somewhat agree with Colorado's pessimism here

CFB ain't what it used to be. Everyone knows that universities were paying recruits all the time, especially in the SWC but now, a team can fall apart in one night. Anything the NCAA tries to do is practically shite on, they basically have no power anymore. This is a free for all, as you basically see schools like OSU openly admitting that they spend Millions to attract transfers. This sport has gone down the shitter and with a useless organization like the NCAA (some of it's their fault, other stuff is not) ain't helping. In a few years, I kind of expect to see the top schools move away from the NCAA entirely and create their own football league. That idea became a conspiracy theory not long ago to now being a somewhat realistic possibility.

The future of this sport is looking kind of gloomy.

The future of CFB is a semi-pro league with contracts and a salary cap like the NFL

I think we all realize this, but there’s nothing we can really do. It’s my (and I’m sure many on this board’s) favorite sport to watch, I hate what it’s becoming, but I’ll likely still watch just as much of it as before.

Yes it’s truly sad how it’s become NFL-lite. NCAA has no teeth, they’ve lost control. I do think we are heading to an NFL model, AFC vs NFC, except it’ll be SEC and Big 10. Two mega conferences and everybody else gets left out. Which is a shame, the regional rivalries is what made CFB so special.
