Not necessarily. Ohio state was in a similar situation in 2014. They lost their first and second QBs going into the Big Ten championship game and Cardale Jones got his first start. They beat Wisconsin 59-0 so they got in. Florida state looked like shite last night and have looked like shite since they lost their starting QB.

I disagree. They went to the swamp and beat the Gators. That’s not easy for a rival, just like it wasn’t easy for bama with Auburn. Then they beat Louisville a top 15 team. No, they weren’t awarded any style points, but they did what they had to do against a quality opponent in a championship game. They also won by more points than Washington and bama did combined.

They lost their QB, yes, but they did exactly what they had to do to deserve a spot in the playoff. You can’t demonstrate that the team is not good without Jordan Travis. They have showed more fortitude than any other team by stepping up the way they have.
