I don’t understand the hate for this, wastewater effluent standards are higher than drinking water standards.

Also, if you think this is gross, consider New Orleans cleans river water, like a 3rd of the countries piss water…

Don't most municipalities use lake/river water?

NYC has some of the best water in the country and it is untreated lake/river

No they're not. Drinking water mcls are way lower than what wastewater plants generally have to hit.

But, the levels of treatment modern wastewater plants can achieve are remarkable compared to what they were doing in the 70s-80s.

Consider how many millions of cubic gallons of water pass New Orleans in a minute? Enough to dilute anything. Bunch of fricking Nancies.
