I think there's a different dynamic with the college situation.
Let's start about 50 years ago. Some college bosses were left and some were right. No problem. The ones on the right chose professors based on merit (some left and some right). The ones on the left chose ONLY left wingers.
Gradually, through retirement, it got to the point were all the bosses were left wing. Resulting in all appointments to staff being left wing.

No they believe in God and family values actually. They are against "Wokeism". Even in the days of communism, gays were locked in mental institutions. The Soviets promoted counter productive behavior in the West to assist with the possible collapse. They did not promote it in their own society.
