Incorrect The Orange was the Prime game It was this Early window Fiesta (after it became a legit bowl) Cotton Hall of Fame/Blockbuster Sugar Citrus Midday Rose Night Orange Then it went to this late 90’s Early Citrus HoF Gator Mid Rose Late Sugar Orange The Fiesta would be slotted based on who was in it
Bro the Sugar Bowl has been almost exclusively at night for 50 years. STFU.

Bro go look at the times in the 80’s.
Facts hurt don’t they?
Go research it
Now you can pick outliers such as Auburn Syracuse and UVa and whomever whipped them. But the ABC years were 12/1 start.
The UT Miami game was a before prime time start technically

Tennessee played Miami in the ‘86 sugar on ABC and it kicked off at 800. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Almost every year in the 70’s and 80’s the sugar and orange went head to head.

I remember a few times in the '90s, the Sugar Bowl on ABC and the Orange Bowl on NBC went up against each other at the same time at 7:00 CST.
Maybe I slightly misremembered. 7:00 or 7:30 CST.

Sugar tends to run later around 730 each year

The Sugar and Orange Bowls were both prime time for most of my life.
I remember Alabama beating Penn State 14-7 in 1979 Sugar Bowl when Paterno tried four downs inside the 1 yard line to tie. It didn’t happen.
The Rose Bowl was always at 5 pm eastern standard time. They had no competing bowl games on TV. The Orange and Sugar Bowls were the best games.

Four years the Orange bowl and sugar bowl went off at almost exactly the same time. Just about every other year one of these would be for the championship.

Sugar used to be before the Rose. Used to be Cotton starting about 11 am, then Sugarstarting a either 12 or 1 pm, then the Rose with the Orange starting at 7 pm and not ending until about 11 pm due to the halftime show.
Back then college games did not last 3.5 hours with extended TV timeouts. In fact not every COP needed a 4 minute TV time out....or even a timeout.

I'm retired, so it doesn't bother me. But even when I was working, I still managed to stay up and watch games. It doesn't hurt to get less sleep for a night or two.
