Anyone know the name of this hinge type?

Have been googling for 30 min.
It is a hinge make of two rotating half spheres that have teeth 360 degrees around and they lock together. To loosen you unwind a knob. When tightening the knob the teeth mesh together and lock the hinge at whatever angle you want.
Is there a specific name? Have been racking my brain. Thanks

So when the thing is loose and swings, it rides over the opposing teeth like a washboard road?

Sounds like some sort of ball hinge but then sounds completely different at the same time.

Lots of BOTs. Bumble, by all accounts, appears to the LLotOT choice of dating apps.

I've seen a smooth version of what you are describing, that's called a friction hinge.

Sounds like the mechanism on a camera tripod

Reminds me of a float height adjuster on cooling tower and cattle trough valves.

Or a patio umbrella to adjust the angle.
ETA Something like this on a flag mount?

Has a knob like this that tightens or loosens the teeth. It would be for a table project

I honestly thought you were asking about a fat, tattooed floosy broad .

McMaster has the best website for shite like that. If you don't know the name they have a very good filter feature.
