I am not opposed, but are we convinced he is the best? I want the best DC we can get.

Outside of Jim Leonhard, who is realistic with a clearly better resume? Even Minter at Michigan is just on his 2nd season as DC.

If LSU had the 25th defense. We make the playoffs.

Its not one year. He led their defense for 2 years improving from 113 in 21 when he wasnt there to 56 in 22 and 25 in 23.

Pelini was aggressive. Pelini sucked.

Obviously he has success as a play caller, and is familiar with recruiting in the south, especially Louisiana.
But there’s one thing I remember about Baker from his time at LSU as LB coach. He had a good balance of relating to the players and earning/keeping their respect. That is something that the defense lacked SEVERELY with Bo Pelini and obviously with Matt House.

Do realize that Baker is at Mizzou now, but he did well at Miami as the DC, so it's not a "1 year success"...let's all strive to be an informed Tiger and do your homework in 2024

The only major shining moment all season for the defense.

They ended the season with three consecutive sacks with the game on the line.

Missouri’s defense improved in that one year, but so did their offense. And when your offense keeps the ball away from ur opponent, ur defense always has better stats.

That’s true if it’s a ball control offense, but the inverse is true if it’s a quick-strike high scoring offense. Joe Burrow and company were partly responsible for our defense’s bad statistics. That was an excellent defense but they labored under two handicaps - one was that they were not on the bench for long, and the other was that the other team was always desperate to score.

This is not going to happen…
This administration does not leak their plans…it will come out of left field and be a solid hire
