First off The Great Frank Wilson has restored state pride in our Louisiana high school players

All of our Louisiana commits constantly on social media and interviews talking about bringing back that dog and pride to LSU

Let’s look what Louisiana has gifted us in 2025

On3 rankings

5 star #1 RB Harlem Berry (committed)

5 star #3 CB Jaboree Antione

4 star #8 RB James Simon

4 star #10 IOL Brett Bordelon (committed)

4 star #14 IOL Devin Harper

4 star (#1 WR in La) TaRon Francis (committed)

4 star #15 TE JD LaFleur (committed)

4 star LB (leader of this class) Keylan Moses (committed)

Then you supplement that with top players from outside the state

#1 overall player #1 QB Bryce Underwood (committed)

#1 WR Dakorien Moore (committed)

5 star #4 WR Andrew Marsh (small lead of Texas we’ll see how this plays out)

#54 overall player #7 OT Lamont Rogers (heavy LSU lean and potential to move up to 5 star)

That’s a lot of offensive firepower so where are all the defensive players?

We will have to wait to see how BK & BB finish filling out this defensive staff. Obviously recruits wanted nothing to do with previous staff and I don’t blame them

But having Blake Baker back as DC is going to pay huge dividends for recruiting on that side of the ball. We’ll have to wait and see what players they target and what players they start to turn up the heat for so only time will tell

While we wait let’s take a look at what Louisiana will give us in the 2026 class

On3 industry rankings (no On3 rankings for 2026 yet)

#2 overall player and #1 DL Jahkeem Stewart

#5 overall player and #1 S Blaine Bradford

#6 overall player and #1 IOL Lamar Brown

#42 overall player and #5 S Aiden Hall

Do y’all like have the #1 QB #1 WR and #1 RB in 2025?

How about combining that with the #1 DL #1 IOL and #1 safety (& #5 safety for good measure) in 2026 all without leaving Louisiana?

Having a completely new defensive staff ALONE will pay huge dividends in recruiting on the defensive side

Plus the Blake Baker effect

Players coach with an aggressive attacking got get ‘em style defense that players love

With ties to Louisiana

On top of Frank Wilson restoring pride in our Louisiana high school players and this is only the beginning y’all

Championships incoming in 3….2…..1…..

I think we’ll start to see this fill in now that baker is on board. If there’s one thing that Kelly is always cognizant about, it’s bringing in balanced recruiting classes. The days of O landing a “top 5” class where 12 of the 25 signees are DL and WR and there’s only one or two OL are over. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Kelly had this marked as the point when he transitions into making a big push on the defensive side.

This dude is a beast he was at USC as a freshman and while he was there decided to compete in a lineman showcase and was dominant as a freshman

I hate to be that guy, but every class Kelly has had besides that first one is setting us up for championships.

As a matter of fact, I would even go so far as to say this past class takes home more hardware than the 25 or 26 class does.

I am confident the DC hire will work out better than we could hope for.

If we can keep Hankton while promoting Sloan,(which is why there's not been an announcement yet) and bring in a great coach and recruiter for the TE's, that the run begins this upcoming season.

I know I'm a sunshine pumper or whatever you wanna call it, but bump this in 3 years when we've won 2 out of 3 or 3 straight.

I'm telling you, we are entering the Golden Age of LSU football. It's not in the past, it's in the future.

I like your optimism. But the golden age started a good twenty years ago.

Good post. The 2025 class is just starting, but will need some defensive studs to go along with what we are doing on O. 2026 is too long to wait. Not taking a negative view because I feel sure they will come.

We gonna need shades.
