I’m laughing at these Gunther interviews, the drivers can barely understand what he’s saying

He's such an arrogant loser. I understand his DTS cult status, but I can't stand that they give him a platform on race day. He cheapens everything he's in involved in.

Alonso was trying to be cheeky and it backfired on him. I lean more towards Alonso being dangerous than Russell overdriving. A 20 second penalty? Eh, not sure i agree with that. Maybe a black and white flag.

I agree, this is more on Alonso. For me, the damning part is the fact that he got back on the throttle before the apex because he realized he was going way too slow. George lost it because he ended up too close to Alonso mid-corner and lost downforce on his front wing. He wasn't overdriving it.

There's no right answer on a penalty, opinions evolve over time. Stop-and-go penalties used to be more common.

Of course I dont expect consistency in F1, but with so many penalties handed out, how did Sauber not receive one for the loose wheel nut in pit lane?

Had that happened during a normal pit sequence, it could have been extremely dangerous to someone's race let alone other pit crews had it punctured a tire and spun out a car going down the lane.

Watched the race this morning. Didn’t realize they penalized Alonso. It’s on Russel to keep control of his car.

Japan is Easter weekend?
Mercedes will have their hands full away from home replacing Ham’s engine and whatever Russel screwed up.

Seems like F1 got the message and made RBR retire VER for this race so we could get a different winner. This sport is dying.

And I agree re: Gunther...what a wanker.

Toto needs to be on suicide watch. His world has completely collapsed around him.

I thought the Crofty downplayed the difficulty of that overtaking move by Sainz - that was beautiful racecraft and glorious to watch not knowing VER had a problem

KMag had the talking heads going nuts on F1TV with his moves on Albon.

Vowles probably covered his eyes a couple times knowing that was their only tub.

They were pretty excited but almost immediately after Max started smoking and then dropped out.

OK folks, I worked out my scripts for the ranking prediction game. You can look at how your prediction stacks up week-by-week.

So far, MikeD has kicked arse every week.

dg42.net/td-f1/td-f1-rankings.php

The scoring is transparent, you can see how everyone's scorecard adds up.

I'm thinking that at some point during the season, possibly at the halfway point (after Silverstone) or at the summer break (after Spa), we can record a Part 1 score, and everyone can create a new prediction list for the rest of the season for a Part 2 score, and the total score will determine the winner. This will be of interest especially if/when Ricciardo gets replaced by Lawson. You will then be able to insert Lawson and Bearman into your new list.

Clown sport.

Giving out penalties for someone going off throttle, not even braking, to defend position.

But hey, they also say Andretti would have embarrassed us.

Clowns.
