European Trip Guidances and suggestions needed.

I will be spending some time in the Belgium/Netherlands area for work in august and September. The wife (no pics) will be making a visit for 7 - 10 days. A few definite agenda items..
Must make it to Normandy
Must fly home from either Brussels or Amsterdam (AMS preferred).
What are some options here? I’m thinking fly to Paris. Get to Normandy. Make our way to Belgium (Ghent / Brugges). Then finish in Amsterdam.
Wife is a World War Buff so keep that in mind. I’ve been to Ghent quite a few times and ventured out a few miles all directions so I am somewhat familiar with that area
