Not to you. Not to me. To Alabama and their decision makers. They would not have hired him if they didn’t think he was a great coach.

The AD thinks he’s a great coach

The people paying the money think he’s a great coach

He just went to the championship game

If they thought he was going to go there and start recruiting losers, there’s no way they would have hired him.

Do you guys really think recruiting is not being discussed right now at this moment?

I’m not saying the guy is a sure thing but I definitely think you guys are putting way too much emphasis on this. They’re not going to let the place burn to the ground like Auburn guys be real.

By that standard, every coach ever hired at top level schools is a known great coach. Sometimes you take chances. Nobody in the world knows if his success will translate to Bama or not. I'm just saying the sample size on this guy is very small. He could very well be the next best great coach who wins multiple championships. I just think he is unknown and a higher risk. But I don't think Bama could get anyone who wasn't a risk, they all said no.

nobody ever lets the place burn down on purpose.
