How much did they “step on the court”? I have a hard time believing only a foot across the line would pick up a T in that spot in middle school.

Yep and a-hole coaches. You would have to pay me $500/hr to coach youth sports.

2 cheerleaders did backflips to center court.

Lost in this story is Timmy who was at the line originally needs his arse whipped for missing the FT that would have sent the game to OT. No mental toughness these days.

Tie game
Timmy makes the first
2 tech FTs
Timmy misses the second

It was a middle school girls championship.

No, I wasn’t there. I’m friends with one of the coaches.

Even though she stepped on the court while free throws were being made or missed, technically the game is still going on. This same situation happened at East Jefferson several years ago and EJ received the same "punishment."

If you dealt with some of these parents, you would be one too.
Ive had parents waiting by my car to:
Ask why their son who couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat isnt the starting QB?
Ask why their son (the starting RB) had so many carries in a game we won. This was a strange one, usually I got asked why they didnt get the ball.
One parent told me if we did sprints at practice, his kid wouldnt be back.
One dad asked why we didnt run the Spread offense (Like Oregon) and that he didnt like our offense, said it didnt work. I could tell he was in his son's ear, we ran a play during a scrimmage and his son as he was getting up off the ground (he was an OL) screamed This offense dont work! I walked up and asked where is our RB? Pointed: He was standing in the EZ.

Post is suspect.

My daughter is a high school cheerleader and was a middle school cheerleader

They are kept FAR off the court.

Why was she close to the court in the first place??

Did she put a toe on the line, or run out to center court?

Wild that most of yall support a ref assessing an obscure foul in a middle school game and making a girl feel like shite! Feel like he coulda let a cheerleader stepping on the court on accident go .. unless he needed attention that bad.
