Why Brian Kelly Won’t Leave LSU For Michigan

By Jake Crain and David Cone
Jan 24, 2024

Jake Crain: Brian Kelly would be clinically insane to leave LSU for Michigan. Why? Not because Michigan isn’t a fantastic job or that there’s anything wrong with Ann Arbor, but because he’s already at a place where, believe it or not (at least in my opinion), it’s easier to establish dominance than at Michigan.

Because they're hiring Sherrone Moore.

Yeah probably all that (TLDR) but also because they already have a coach selected and will not even offer the job to Kelly.

BK wants to win a national title. Thats why he left Notre Dame and has been his singular focus since he got to campus. He left a playoff contender to go to a rebuilding job because he knows if he gets LSU up and running then can win enough here to go down as an all time great coach. I HIGHLY doubt he is going to leave the monster he is building to go anywhere.

What about the fact that Michigan could be majorly whacked by the NCAa on the next couple of years? That’s a bigger negative than anything else.

Following Harbaugh this year would be almost as impossible as following saban.

And Kelly’s job just got a lot easier with saban retiring. Kelly to Michigan is the biggest nonstory of the year.

Only complete dumbasses and opposing fans trying to speak it into existence think Brian Kelly would leave LSU for Michigan.

Brian Kelly to Michigan is an example of the telephone game. One person threw out a scenario and people ran with it

Besides the obvious, he has been building LSU for two seasons. Look up his career and see what his first 3 years are like after he arrives at a school. Year 3 is a massive improvement. I don't know what a massive improvement from 10 wins looks like, but it's probably somewhere around 15 wins.
