I think they'll be average....which will be a very big jump.

It wouldn’t take much!

We did see a team that finished with the #99 ranked total defense finish as runner-up in the nation. You saw an LSU team with the #108 total defense finish 12th in the final poll. LSU was 13th in the final CFP ranking, which would be two spots behind an at-large for the 12 team playoff.

If LSU doesn’t have a huge offense drop off (Top 25?) and a moderate defensive improvement (Top 60?), the possibility of making the 12-team playoff is high. Just have to go out there and win the games.
