Grubb is a loss, he was objectively the best OC in CFB.
Huff is also a loss, guy was a top 3 OL coach in his own right.
Grubb was basically told by his family “have fun, we’re staying in Seattle.”
Not sure I blame him given the ultimatum for choosing his family and the NFL over a college job he very likely would’ve only stayed at a year or two before he made the jump to HC somewhere.
He might’ve also decided he’d prefer to go the NFL OC -> NFL HC path. I sure would in 2024.
The offense was always DeBoers, this is more akin to Saban losing Kirby than Dabo losing Venables where he’s not really qualified to oversee that side of the ball. I would agree it will require more of his time and attention now to oversee a first time play caller whereas he could’ve delegated almost entirely to DeBoer.
