Or they’re getting a promotion. Don’t know which one sounds more reasonable

To be fair, they also work substantially less in the NFL

In this case a 20% pay cut > losing half your wealth and family due to divorce/separation.

Anyone who has ever been offered a big promotion across the country with children in school understands there’s more at play than just cash at that point.

He was gonna take the job instead of Rees and the family vetoed it 18 months ago. Anyone who expected Grubb to be in Tuscaloosa long was delusional.

It was always going to be a stepping stone to a HC job or the NFL. Top coordinators at premier schools that sustain success don’t stay coordinators long and he was already getting HC looks the last two cycles.

It sucks, but that’s modern CFB and it’s nothing abnormal for Bama fans over the last ten years.

Kirby -> UGA
Pruitt -> UT
Kiffin -> FAU/OM
Sark -> Texas
Locksley -> Maryland
BOB -> NFL
Golding -> not renewed
