But turning 19 at the beginning of your senior year is nuts. You weren’t borderline. You would still have been one of the older ones in the class before…

you are not supposed to be eligible if you turn 19 before senior year

i do agree kids turning 19 before jan of senior year is a little much but i also get why parents do it and overall think its a good thing if you have a household that has good parents to provide an extra year of guidance for the kid before making life-altering decisions.

i get why some have a problem with it. but if you graduate before turning 18, you parents did you a disservice, not from a sports standpoint, but from a life standpoint imo.

and i say that but my oldest is only going to turn 18 a few days before graduation. Could have held him back but made the decision based on what is best for him. Which is kind of my point, just blanket criticism of parents and kids without knowing why they made the decision to hold someone back. many times there are reasons outside of school or sports.

I know in the past WM has abused this system and totally get why people are pissy about it.

The kid we are talking about will turn 19 around November his senior year. So that’s eligible but man that’s old

I turned 18 in November of my senior year and I was one of the older ones in my class
