Why doesn’t LSU hit for singles when the wind is blowing in?

Yeah, everybody knows you should use circle on the ps5 controller to hit for contact, instead of square for power, when the wind is blowing in.

Serious response though. That Stony Brook pitcher wasn't bad. It was tough to string enough hits together off of him. The wind was one problem, but those shadows didn't help either. Yesterday Stony Brook just had more balls that had eyes than we did. It's not we pitched terrible, or didn't put good swings on them. Just was one of those days where it kind of just is what it is.

Not bunting in the 2nd inning with no outs would be a good start

To me it's more about who's in the lineup than their approach. The players are who they are. We saw Jared Jones absolutely destroy a ball yesterday that got caught at the wall. He and Travinski are straight pull power hitters. You can't hit a homer to left or center with a strong north wind. I think you've got to prioritize playing left handed hitters, line drive hitters, speed, and defense. We've got enough talented options we could easily run that kinda lineup out and sit those 2 on a day like yesterday.

If you try to hit a single, you will meekly hit it.

SB was trying to crush it yesterday too, they don’t have much power and balls were hot where we were not.

I’m not at all worried. We will lose games. It’s ok.

Other than situational hitting, the plan is to hit the ball as close the middle of the bat as hard a possible. It’s a simple game.
