I don't hate Braswell but right now he is not hitting. .250 avg at SS works. But below .200 is not okay. I am just asking a question. But thanks anyway for whatever you just did.

Way too small of sample size to give up on Braswell's offense. Especially since they changed his swing this offseason and it's going to take some time to get it down. I asked yesterday why Brown pinch hit for Braswell in the 9th. I think Brown is probably gonna wind up being a better hitter than Braswell if he's not already. But it was still an odd move to me because you usually don't pinch hit a lefty to face a lefty. I wondered if Braswell was nicked, Brown just hits lefties so well that the lefty-lefty thing didn't matter, or if Jay is seeing something in Braswell that he doesn't love right now. Him not being in the lineup today just makes it even more curious. There's no way Jay is completely giving up on Braswell at short this early, though.

However, it could just be a way to get Milam in the lineup every day without sacrificing a good OF bat. Milam at SS might be the bet way to get the best bats in the lineup, especially since he's a switch-hitter and gives us another left-handed bat against RH pitching. And we know how much Jay values left-handed bats, and this team is short on them. Again, no way Jay is writing off Braswell this early. But Milam can handle SS defensively and Pearson can handle 2nd. Then you can have thoe 2 there and have Bigham, Brown, and Kling in the OF.

That's probably the best offensive lineup, but it's also probably a tick down defensively from Braswell at SS and Milam at 2nd. Maybe Jay is trying to figure out which option gives us the best chance of winning. But with the odd lefty-lefty pinch hit move yesterday, I'm not ruling out Braswell being a little nicked up right now and needed a day or 2 off. We should know more tomorrow when we see who runs out at short.
