St. Pete snuck up on me even though I read the mailbag at Racer.com every week.

We have an exhibition/all-star type race this weekend on Sunday morning. Should be awesome! Qualifying is Saturday night as well.

OP is updated.

What an awesome race! I am still pumped up about that.

It seems the paddock doesn't buy Newgarden's claim he thought push-to-pass was available on restarts was within the rules.

We have an 85-lap road course race on this Saturday afternoon. As of right now, there is a decent chance of rain throughout the day. It should be a doozy.

Four prior winners will line up on the grid Saturday: Will Power, Rinus Veekay, Colton Herta, and Alex Palou. Lundgaard and Grosjean have also recently taken pole at the Indy Motor Speedway road course.

Will Power has won at the IMS road course five times and a Penske driver has won there eight times. There have only been 14 races.

Palou is just so darn consistent. He may be setting up for back-to-back titles.

Herta had a tremendous drive Saturday, even after being pushed off on the first lap by his teammate. I wish we could've seen a little more of it (thanks, NBC).

Finally, is Santino Ferucci's only club in the bag just to push his car into his competitor's?

I feel like it’s not crazy to believe that Kyle Larson could win the Indy 500.

I posted this over in the NASCAR thread, but it’s worth sharing here, too. With rain a potential issue at Indy on Sunday, a possible rain delay could very well impact Kyle Larson’s ability to run the Indy 500. He has to start the Coca-Cola 600 in order to earn points for the race. The current National Weather Service forecast has a 60% chance of rain for the area on Sunday.

Scratch Kanaan as a possible fill-in for Larson if Larson cannot run the Indy 500 due to weather/schedule.
