California deserves to be the shithole it has become. You have to literally step over human shite in the sidewalks from San Diego to San Francisco.

I lived in Orange County and never had to step over shite, or worry about crime, or see or deal with pandhandlers and bums, the weather was perfect, neighborhood was quiet, safe, clean, walkable, left my door unlocked, almost zero basketball people... Awesome restaurants, bars, sunshine, palm trees and the beach maybe a mile away, great friends who were almost all very conservative.
