I drive a 2002 Chevy with 5.3 as my daily driver, 370k miles. I bought it new. At 200k miles my lifters starting tapping loud. Like had to turn off at drive thru to order loud. I talked to my mechanic and he suggested swapping to shell rotella. Heavy duty diesel oil. The ticking went away totally. I change oil since then every 5k miles and filter every 10k miles. No issues since. 5.3 is an amazing engine.

Shop believes it's a collapsed lifter. They don't have the capabilities to go any further. Anyone know what this might cost me?
