I predict that LSU will drop a series or two during this brutal stretch and the rant will absolutely lose their minds. Then we will dominate the back half of the schedule and host a super regional.
Oh yeah. Lather me up in this and I’ll soak for 3 months

Man it just feels good to know you are going to be in the hunt for Omaha every year

Hitting will be fine but may take some humbling efforts early-on in SEC play. For whatever the reason, there have been a lot of high fly outs unrelated to the wind. The strikeouts (swinging) have been elevated, ascending swings and the combination of the two suggests they’ve been just swinging for the fences against some of the weaker arms they’ve faced. Its not intentional but the respect they’ll give SEC pitchers will level their swinging planes to produce more base hits and at least harder hit balls than what we’ve seen so far.

LSUs bats always come alive at the end of April. I think we do the usual slowish start and finish strong to host a super

No chance. Offense is not good. Pitching is, but we're gonna lose a lot of close games. That said, pitching is good enough and offense is young enough to be playing our best baseball at the end of the year and make a run to Omaha. I don't think--at this time--we've got the team to win it, but you never know. Anything can happen once you get there, especially if you have the pitching. But the bats have to improve greatly over the next couple months.

No reasonable person can look at how much experience we lost from last years lineup and think the bats were gonna be the same. That’s insane.
I thinks this team just gets better as the season goes on and Jay proves why he’s the best baseball coach in America by getting us back to Omaha. Every thing that happens after that is lagniappe

I’m the opposite of what you’re saying. I think pitching keeps us in all three games every weekend and the veterans provide timely hitting when the reliefs are in.
I think it’s a 20 win team with the only series loss being A&M

18-12 SEC record.
That's a national seed lock with this schedule

I don’t think an 18-12 conference record equates to not being a super host for us unless you think we are dropping a bunch of midweek games.

16-13. Warren Nolan says LSU's current strength of schedule is 140th.

3rd base coach hasn’t brought his A game this season.

18-12 SEC record. Host a regional. Travel for a Super.
18 SEC wins on top of the 16 we already have is 34 wins. We are going to win the majority of our mid week games, which gives us a 42+ win season going into tourney play. That’s National seed all the way.

Pitching is extremely good - I mean EXTREMELY good. Hitting is just okay, but i agree with the OP that there is upside there. Tommy White is not average, but he has looked it so far. 21-9 is my prediction.

We will crush all who oppose us...

I think the team is a little better than I expected heading into the season. 20-10 is a possibility.

Itll definitely hurt not having Crews/Dugas/Beloso/Morgan who were guys who knew how to get on base that also hit for average. Jobert was solid at times too.
Neal just needs to be the every day catcher or RF. He doesnt need to sit. Milam needs to be the everyday 2B.
I like Pearson a lot, but sit him for a bit and make him prove it once/if someone else starts slacking.
Our pitching depth should get us to Omaha on their own luckily. Hopefully the bats get sweaty when we get there.

18-12 regional host, borderline super host, gonna be close

quote:Gonna require Holman/Jump/Hurd to be on their shite every week. Being down 2-6 (or 7-10) in the 7th for example isnt as plausible this year as last year against SEC pitching.
20-10 is a possibility.
