Jim Plunkett should be in the HOF. Without question. I’m not sure Eli even makes the NFL if his name was not Manning. He was decent at best.

no way, Plunkett is a great story but not a HOF QB

in 15 seasons he only started 144 games
in 15 seasons he threw more INTs than TDs 8 times
in 15 seasons he played the whole season 8 times
one ROTY Award, one Comeback Player, no Pro Bowls, no All Pro teams

think about that for a second, during his career the Pro Bowl took between 4 and 7 QBs total. Usually two to three QBs from each Conference. He was never considered one of the top three QBs in his Conference.

in 1980 he won Comeback player of the year, A Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP and did not make All Pro or the Pro Bowl.

he played on only four winning teams

he was hampered by injuries and played on a lot of bad teams, but he just doesnt have the stats to be a HOF QB
