People really underestimate how much Queen Elizabeth was keeping the Royal Family afloat. She could come off as maybe too rigorous or cold when it came to rules and traditions but it kept the ship sailing smooth. She’s been dead less than a year and it’s on the verge of collapse.

Why people care about Royals is beyond me. These the same folks who were chopping off each others heads and feuding over Christianity for the past 500-600 years.
We won 1 war with them 80 years ago and people forget how big of assholes they were for prior 500 years.
you sound like a history professor...

I don't know who's who in this soap opera. All I know is the woman that married the older son is classically beautiful

it's very possible William off'd Kate's side guy.... they will never pin it on him but he is certainly capable. The hope that he loses the crown, interests me

I'd be interested in an exposé on Pippa Middleton's arse.

You dont have to worship or be obsessed with the drama of the Royals to recognize despite all the mistakes, like the Catholic Church .
England/Great Britain helped cultivate a better world.
Although on St. Patricks day, I do allow the Irish have a legit gripe, but they conspired with Spain and France to restore the Catholic throne
its an interesting time in history, with all that hung in the balance
too much power in a few hands always causes problems

There was no famine - just bad potatoes. Potatoes were the only food Irish peasants could eat. There were more peasants than not. That’s why the Irish call it ‘An Gorta Mor’ which translates to the great hunger. Those bastards starved the Irish.

Fun fact: a lot of the British nobility are American. In the 19th century they were broke so they married their son's and daughters off to the children of American tycoons. The Brits got a much needed cash infusion and the Americans got instant social status.
